In the context of the Interregional Cooperation Plan "Marine Environment, Coastal Threats and Fisheries" an event entitled "Gastronomic experience: the cooking of edible foreign species" was organized on 28/09/2023, at the Adeste cafe, Minos Beach Art Hotel in Agios Nikolaos, with with the aim of raising the awareness of professional fishermen, fishmongers, restaurants and hotels of the PE of Lasithi regarding the edible alien species of the area, specifically lionfish and blue crabs.
Distinguished chefs presented their own proposals combining haute gastronomy with traditional Cretan cuisine, the requirements for a healthy diet and the excellent nutritional value of edible foreign species.
